What we do
The Alzheimer's Disease Association (ADA) was formed in 1990 as a result of growing concern for the needs of people with dementia and their families. ADA is a voluntary welfare organization and is made up of caregivers, professionals and all who are interested in dementia.
The ADA provides the following services:
- Day care for the elderly with dementia at our New Horizon Centres (Bukit Batok, Tampines and Toa Payoh)
- Transportation service to attend the New Horizon Centres
- Physiotherapy and occupational therapy
- Caregiver Support Service
- Information and Referral
- Support Group for carers in English, Mandarin and Malay
- Counselling for carers
- Training programmes on dementia care
- Public education
- Resource library
- Volunteer programme
- Attachment for nursing, medical and social work students at New Horizon Centres for practical training
